That’s the motto of Carpe Diem
Photography, owned by former Review Appeal Managing
Editor Will Jordan.
The foyer of Jordan’s studio and
gallery in his home at 238 First Ave. S. in downtown
Franklin showcases dozens of his prints. Others are
on display in a Main Street window just off Franklin’s
Public Square and at What’s In Store on Main
Street, in front of which will be the Carpe Diem booth
at this weekend’s Main Street Festival.
Jordan’s work displays his eye
for visual poetry in scenes others might overlook,
like a castoff pair of shoes or a street beggar in
Paris.
“What makes photography exciting
to me is the camera’s ability to capture and
freeze a moment that then lives on and on in the borders
of the print,” Jordan said. “That image
becomes a kind of permanent visual reality.”
